I was watching TV with my wife last night when we saw an advertisement for one of the many debt settlement companies out there. Only this one said something that really caught my attention. They said that your credit score will rapidly increase by joining their program.
Unfortunately most people aren’t aware of how false that statement was and I’m sure they had people calling in to sign up with the hopes that their score will start to go up immediately. Please understand that any kind of debt settlement program you sign up for will have very adverse affects on your credit score. It’s almost as damaging to your credit as filing for bankruptcy is.
